St. Luke’s is a fully inclusive church with a focus on the Bible, and especially the story of Jesus, as our inspiration and guidebook for life. We welcome all to be part of our community of faith irrespective of age, gender, sexuality, political belief or history and aim to provide a home for all those who are seeking faith as well as those who acknowledge Jesus as their saviour.
We believe that Christian faith calls us to serve those in need and that we should live out our faith by the way we live. The saying that we hold onto most dearly is attributed to St. Francis who is purported to have said: “Preach the gospel at all times, and when necessary use words.”
We welcome you if you want to find out about faith or if you have believed in Jesus all your life. We especially have a heart for the young and the young at heart, those who are alone and those who feel they have nowhere to belong.
We are an Anglican church (also known as the Church of England) and profess the faith expressed in the creeds and we fully affirm the ministry of women as priests, bishops and Archbishops and we long for the day when the church will allow same sex couple to solemnise their relationships by getting married in church. We are members of the Inclusive Church network which you can read about here
